  American Club Brussels
An International club with an American heart

Club Activities

The American Club of Brussels offers many activities and events for adults, young people and families throughout the year. There's something in the ACB for everyone, and you can pick and choose activities as you like. There are sports, picnics, dinner evenings, dances, cultural visits, events centered around American holidays, cocktails, networking opportunities, talks by interesting personalities, trips to the theater, and many more.

Please go to the current CLUB CALENDAR for a listing of upcoming activities.

You can reserve on this website.

Here is a description of some of our regular events:

Final Fridays

On the last Friday of each month, the American Club of Brussels holds a no-host reception at a local hotel, bar, or other venue. Both members and newcomers are welcome to this opportunity to meet periodically and keep contacts fresh. It is also a great time for prospective members to learn more about the club.

Dine-Outs

Every month, the American Club of Brussels hosts a trip to a local restaurant for an evening of fun, good food and drink. The evening is open to all, even non-members, with the idea of meeting new people and enjoying old friends in a convivial, pleasant and informal atmosphere. The meal is a fixed menu (sometimes choices are possible, and a vegetarian option is always available) and at a fixed price. The Dine-Outs have a loyal following - why not join us one evening to enjoy the conversation, food and companionship?

Ommegang Dinner

The Ommegang (literally “walk-around”) is a faithful recreation of a splendid pageant that was first performed in 1549 for Emperor Charles V, his son Philip II, and the knights of the Order of the Golden Fleece.

This is a spectacular affair, and one of the biggest festivals in the country. Our dinner evening at La Maison du Cygne offers, literally and figuratively, a window on this amazing event.

Thanksgiving Dinner

By the end of November, everyone begins thinking of that old American tradition of celebrating what we have received by breaking bread together over Thanksgiving dinner. Always on the fourth Thursday in November, the American Club has held a very special family dinner so those who wish can continue the tradition in Brussels. This is in particular for families, but many join because they wish to eat with friends and enjoy the unique companionship Thanksgiving Day offers.

Pioneers' Dinner

The Pioneers Club is a subset of the American Club of Brussels and consists of members of the Board of Governors and those who have been ACB members for at least 10 years. Formal Pioneers' dinners are held twice a year, usually at the Château Ste.-Anne in Auderghem.
